Succession...

Fucking Succession yeah that's right Succession. This is a Succession shrine because I need something distract myself and I have been thinking about Succession.

If you want to read my thoughts about particular characters, go ahead and click on a button to the right.

Succession is a satircal tragicomedy-drama TV series that aired from June 3, 2018, to May 28, 2023 on HBO. I myself only started watching it with my partner in June of 2023. I'm not the best at synopses, so I'll let Wikipedia take this one:

Succession follows the Roy family, which owns the New York City-based global media conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. The family patriarch, Logan Roy, has experienced a decline in health. His four children—estranged oldest son Connor..., power-hungry Kendall..., irreverent Roman..., and politically savvy Shiv...—who all have varying degrees of connection to the company begin to prepare for a future without their father and vie for prominence within the company.

Thanks, Wikipedia.

As much as I have thought about Succession, I don't feel like I have very much to say on it at all. At least not anything deep or especially intellgient. My partner has said a lot more intelligent things about the show. I wouldn't even say it's a particularly important piece of media to me, on a personal level; there are things that have impacted me much more profoundly than Succession has. All of that being said, I think it's an absolutely brilliant show and I am... something akin to enamoured with the cast of characters. There's something deeply wrong and twisted about every single one of them, and that makes them fascinating to me. Delicious characters fun to consume.

What's incredible is that I despised episode one. Like, truly hated it. I did not enjoy watching it and I thought I just didn't like the show. I had no idea what was going on except for that everything going on was miserable. I kept watching though, because I just wanted to spend time with my partner, and who knows, maybe it'll get better. We stopped for the night after episode two, and I found myself craving more after that, to my surprise. We've yet to finish the show (we're on season four), but I'm making this page anyway, because I still think about those damn Roys...
